Losing weight isn’t just about the numbers on the scales – it’s about how you feel inside.

It’s about taking a broader approach to weight loss instead of just focusing on dieting or what’s on your plate.

It involves thinking about what you’re eating, finding your emotional eating triggers and looking for long term solutions by making small changes.

Live Life Better Derbyshire offers free weight management support which will help you to set, and achieve, your long term weight loss goals.

But we’re different to other weight loss programmes as we look at the emotional and psychological elements of weight management as well as concentrating on the food that you are actually eating.

Deciding to take the first step towards losing weight can feel daunting and even overwhelming – but we’re here to help you every step of the way.

At Live Life Better Derbyshire we provide support, help and advice for you to successfully lose weight, and keep it off, for good.

We’ll support you with personalised advice, tasty recipes, group support, online tools and more.

 

How do I join?

In order to take part in our weight management service you’ll need to be aged 16 or over and live in Derbyshire.

If you are interested in taking part in one of our community weight loss or self-support programmes, you can take part in our online self-assessment to see if you’re eligible.

If you’re not eligible for any of our free services, then you can use some of our suggested useful tools for some great self-help support.

 

What we offer:

Community based groups: Our group sessions run for an hour a week and you can join at any time.

The programme runs for 12 weeks plus there’s an option to take part in our 30 minute weigh-in and support sessions for up to a year after completing your 12 sessions.

These supportive groups give you the chance to meet other people on their own weight loss journeys.

You’ll also get information on lots of topics including portion sizes, food labels, balanced diets and understanding eating triggers.

Our qualified and experienced advisers will also support you to find suitable, local exercise and activity opportunities.

 

Self-support: If you can’t take part in a group session then our self-support option could be for you.

You’ll receive an initial consultation with a weight management adviser to get you started with an option to drop into our weigh-in support sessions for up to 12 months.

 

Workplace support: We work with local businesses and can offer weight loss programmes to support your staff.
